Educational organizations from the Kokkola campus area gathered at the Kokkola University Center Chydenius to present their video solutions to each other. In addition to the University Center's Information Technology Unit, representatives from Centria University of Applied Sciences and Kpedu were also present.
Tuomo Härmänmaa, project manager of the Quality in Distance Learning project, who convened the event, presented the architecture and functions of the CiNetCampus environment from the perspective of teachers and students. The presentation also covered solutions currently under development, such as those related to the automation of video subtitling. Presentations were also given by KPEDU and Centria.
– The presentations sparked a lot of discussion, and it was clear that this kind of information exchange is beneficial for everyone. During the presentation, we were able to compare experiences of different operating models and video and software solutions, said Härmänmaa, highlighting the positive aspects of the event.
The event was not only about looking at what has been achieved, but also about looking to the future. Future challenges and possible areas for development were highlighted. Among other things, the use of artificial intelligence in lecture videos was seen as an opportunity to streamline teachers' work.
