In our sensor-based environmental research, we utilize both instruments developed in-house and commercially available sensor solutions from established manufacturers. When using commercial devices, our research and development efforts focus particularly on data processing and analysis.
In the TAKOMO project, groundwater sensors manufactured by the Swiss sensor technology company Decentlab have been used to measure groundwater levels and electrical conductivity, along with the company’s snow depth sensors. Decentlab featured our research in its customer newsletter under the headline “Experimental Environmental & Infrastructure Monitoring in Finland.” The article presented sensor-based environmental measurements and comparative studies carried out in the Kokkola Industrial Park.
Through the newsletter, our project gained visibility within Decentlab’s international customer and partner network.
