Students involved in IoT learning environments

The first year of the IoT learning environment project is coming to an end. We have made good progress in our joint project with Kpedu and in developing learning environments for different fields of education. The joint project focuses on the food, mechanical and production engineering, and electrical and automation sectors, where we are starting to diversify learning environments with the help of IoT.

The data platform has already been built to a large extent and data can be transferred to it successfully. Data from the food industry environment is already being collected on servers, and now we need to define more precisely how we want to present the collected data to teachers and students. Most importantly, however, students have also had their first encounters with the world of IoT.

The first steps have already been taken with students in the electrical and automation sector, where students are introduced to IoT in a course. The IoT learning environment itself is being built in the background for the education sector, which these students will also be able to join.

The food industry has also launched its first training courses for students, focusing on teaching them about the possibilities of IoT. There are many measurable things in the food industry that are easy for students to grasp. This makes it easier to consider new needs when the possibilities of the subject area are better known.
