TAKOMO Smart Environmental Monitoring in Industrial Areas

Environmental measurements attracted the interest of seminar attendees

During the coffee break at the SeminarIT 2025 – Generative Artificial Intelligence Now and in the Future seminar, environmental measurements at the Kokkola University Consortium Chydenius and the TAKOMO project were presented. The audience had the opportunity to learn about the project's real-time noise measurement and the application of artificial intelligence in environmental measurements.

At the presentation table, project manager Timo Hongell talked about the technology of the measuring devices and the use of artificial intelligence in environmental measurements, which aroused a lot of interest among the seminar audience of about 60 people. Professor Ismo Hakala presented the project's extensive environmental measurement network at the seminar, which was attended by a total of around 180 people, both in person and via remote connections.

The same demonstration equipment also reached the audience at the sprint competitions organized by Kokkolan Suunnistajat last weekend, where the Kokkola University Consortium Chydenius served as the competition center. Unstable weather ensured that the audience stayed indoors during breaks, where project manager Hongell, who was acting as the race organizer, continued to demonstrate the devices.
