The monitoring of the environment of Lake Ullavanjärvi has been strengthened by adding camera-based technology to validate and verify the results of monitoring the surface level. In addition to verifying the results of the surface level sensors, this makes it possible to visually see the possible causes of larger surface level changes. In the past, it has been noticed that various peat rafts and other mass may detach from the lake and drift towards the dam with the flow. Analyzing camera data can thus provide information on the causes of surface level changes.
