The city of Kokkola is renovating the shore meadows of Torsö, Halkokari and the south end of Morsiussaari in the Helmi project funded by ELY Center.
The Helmi project is part of the measures of the city of Kokkola's climate program.

In the data to efficiency project, a sensor network implementation (WSN, Wireless Sensor Network) has been built in the area since the end of spring, which collects data in real time from the areas of coastal meadows that are being restored, about the cape frogs that may live there. During the spawning season of the cape frogs, they can be identified based on sound observations from the terrain, but observation made by ear requires the observer to be in the right place at the right time. For this purpose, Kokkola University Center in Chydenius has implemented a solution based on a wireless sensor network that monitors sound data and utilizes artificial intelligence and machine learning, which enables the automation of recognition even in a wide area.

The equipment has been developed further from Data to efficiency in the project, and during April 2024 the equipment has been installed in the areas planned for renovation in the Helmi project in the coastal meadows at the southern end of Morsiussaari and in the reference site Rummelö.
