Quality for distance learning

An article exploring elements of self-directed learning has been published

Sanna Laine, a project researcher for the "Laatua etäopetukseen" project, has published a research article titled “Self-directed learning readiness: re-examining dimensions in an online degree program in computer science” in the international journal Computer Science Education", in collaboration with Mikko Myllymäki and Ismo Hakala.

The study examines the factor structure of self-directed learning readiness (SDLR) in the context of master’s-level distance learning in computer science. The study evaluates the applicability of a previously developed SDLR model to this student group and examines what dimensions can be identified from the data.

The study provides new insights into the key elements of self-directed learning readiness in the context of distance learning in information technology among adult students.
