VESIKKO Project Off to a Strong Start

The VESIKKO project, launched in September, has attracted considerable interest from industrial stakeholders as well as other interest groups. The project focuses on developing and piloting intelligent, real-time water monitoring solutions. The pilot area consists of the Kokkola Industrial Park (KIP) and the surrounding coastal waters.

The project enables the measurement of various water quality and environmental parameters using compact sensor devices in virtually any water body, watercourse, or pipeline. Within the industrial area, monitoring focuses particularly on wastewater and cooling water, while natural waters are also monitored as part of the project.

Industrial partners have shown interest in the project since its planning phase, and this interest has grown further following the confirmation of project funding. The needs of companies and other stakeholders have already been assessed, and collaboration will continue throughout the project.
